This policy explains how Commercelia Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects and uses your personal data when you visit commercelia.co.uk or buy from us. We are the controller of your personal data under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. The data we collect

Identity and contact details: your name, billing and delivery address, email address and phone number.
Order details: the products you buy, prices, order history, returns and refunds.
Account details: your login email and password (stored in encrypted form) if you create an account.
Payment details: card payments are handled by our payment provider. We do not see or store your full card number.
Messages: what you send us by email or through our contact form.
Technical data: your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, collected by our website and hosting provider for security and to keep the site working.

3. How we use it and our lawful basis

To take, process, deliver and support your order, including returns and refunds – performance of a contract.
To answer your questions and messages – legitimate interests (providing customer service).
To keep accounting and tax records – legal obligation.
To keep the website secure, prevent fraud and fix problems – legitimate interests.
To send marketing emails, only if you have agreed – consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.

4. Who we share it with

We never sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the shop, and only as much as they need:

our website hosting provider (Hostinger);

our payment provider, to take your payment;
delivery companies, to deliver your order;
our accountants and professional advisers;
the police, HMRC or other authorities when the law requires it.

Some of these providers may store data outside the UK. When they do, we make sure suitable safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

5. How long we keep it

Order and accounting records: 6 years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as UK law requires.
Account details: until you close your account.
Messages: up to 2 years after we last hear from you.
Marketing: until you unsubscribe.

We use cookies that are needed for the shop to work, such as keeping items in your basket and keeping you signed in. These do not need your consent. If we add analytics or advertising cookies, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy.

7. Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to have it moved to another provider, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email info@commercelia.co.uk. We will reply within one month and there is normally no charge.
